Location & Transportation

Which airport should I choose to fly to?

The nearest airport is Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar, Bali. We recommend flying here, as it offers the most convenient access to our retreat location. Airport pickup is available upon request.

Do I need prior yoga experience to join the retreat?

No prior yoga experience is required. Our retreat is open to beginners as well as advanced practitioners. Our experienced teachers will guide you and provide modifications to suit your level of practice.

What is included in the retreat package?

The retreat package includes daily yoga and meditation classes, comfortable accommodation, healthy vegetarian meals, local excursions, airport pickup, and personalized guidance from certified teachers.

What should I bring with me for the retreat?

We recommend bringing comfortable yoga clothes, a reusable water bottle, personal toiletries, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and any personal items you may need. Yoga mats and props will be provided at the retreat center.

Food & Accommodation

I am vegan. Does the food you serve suit vegans?

Food provided at our center is 100% vegetarian and vegan.

I have diabetes, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, or kidney disease. Can you provide a special diet at the school?

Yes, we will provide you food according to your dietary needs.

Is there clean drinking water at the school?

Yes, there is pure filtered water available for students 24/7, free of charge.

Can we use phones at the school?

Yes, you are free to use your phone when you are not in class.

How can I use the internet at school?

Our wireless internet is free and easily accessible, so you can use it on your phone or laptop.

Do you have air conditioning available at the school during summer?

Yes, air conditioning is available for an additional charge.

Health & Security

I'm taking medications. Will I be able to get them in India?

Yes, hospitals in India have the same facilities as Western countries. The brand may differ, but you will be able to get your medications here as well.

What if I get sick during my course?

If you are sick, injured, or in need of medical assistance, we will provide care or take you to a western-style hospital. We will also arrange alternatives so you can complete your course.

Do I need vaccinations before coming?

No specific vaccinations are required. However, we recommend bringing mosquito repellent, lotions, and other personal care items.

Do I have to worry about malaria?

Bali is considered very low risk for malaria. Vaccinations are generally not needed, as malaria is quite rare in this area.

Do I have to be careful about eating food in Bali?

We take extra precautions by having a dedicated staff prepare fresh meals daily at the school. Eating out in Ubud restaurants is also generally safe.

About the Course

How many students are there in the YTT classes/courses?

We accept 15 to 20 students in each Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course.

What is the dress code for the yoga class?

White clothes are recommended. Modest dressing is highly advised, and you may also wear yoga suits.

Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?

Yes, please bring your own yoga mat, or you can purchase one from a nearby market.

I'm pregnant, can I attend the course?

No, the course is too intense for pregnant women. If you wish to attend, please consult your doctor before making a decision.

When do we have free time?

There are short breaks during the daily schedule. Sundays are free with no classes, allowing time for rest or exploration.

If I want to skip class, am I able to do that?

In case of emergency, yes, but you must inform your teacher beforehand.

Can I attend the same course with my partner?

Yes, it is possible to attend the TTC with your partner.

I tried yoga just a few times. Will it be too advanced for me to attend the TTC?

No, the YTTC is suitable for everyone. We teach yoga from the very roots, so prior experience is not necessary.

Are the teachers qualified?

Yes, all teachers are qualified yogis. Some hold master’s degrees in yoga sciences, while others have MA degrees.

Will language be a barrier since English is not my first language?

No, students come from many countries, and English is often their second language. Courses are easy to follow, and teachers provide full support. We also occasionally conduct courses in Spanish, Chinese, and Russian.

Do I have to read any books?

Yes, there are a few books you’ll need to read during your course. You may start before your arrival or once you are at the school.

What are the arrival and departure guidelines?

You should arrive at least one day before the course begins to attend the orientation. The course starts at 10:30 am on the first day with a yoga ritual. Graduation takes place on the last day at 11:30 am, so plan your departure in the evening.

How can I become a certified yoga teacher or yoga instructor?

To become a certified yoga teacher, you must successfully complete a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course and demonstrate competence in teaching yoga. You can find the minimum requirements for yoga teachers on the Yoga Alliance website, which also lists approved training programs and schools that meet their standards.

Is your school registered with Yoga Alliance? Is your yoga teacher training certificate valid internationally?

Yes, Bali Yoga Retreats is a part of WPYS (RYS 200, 300, 500) and is a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance, USA. Our yoga teacher training certifications are internationally recognized. Graduates can also register online with Yoga Alliance® after completing their course.

Do I need to pass any exams in order to complete the course?

Yes, you will need to pass both a written and verbal test. Your overall performance, attendance, and behavior will also be taken into account when evaluating you.

Will I be able to teach with this certificate in other parts of the world?

Yes, since our courses are qualified by Yoga Alliance, once you register with them, you can teach yoga internationally in any part of the world.

General questions

Which kind of visa do I need to apply for?

Students should apply for tourist visa as it is easy and granted from indonesian embassy shortly, Normally you can get a visa on arrival. Please study more on their website.

What should I bring with myself?

Most of the general items you will need during your stay in India (or their equivalent) can be easily found in the nearby shops around the corner from our yoga school. What we suggest you remember to bring is any specialty item that you can't live without, like a specific personal care item or favorite snack from your country.

Is your school registered with Yoga Alliance? Is your yoga teacher training certificate valid internationally?

Yes, BYR(RYS 200, 300, 500) is a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance, USA for providing internationally recognized yoga teacher training certifications in Bali. All our yoga teacher training graduates can register online at Yoga Alliance® website.

Payment

Is it possible to make changes to my booking after I’ve made it?

Yes, if there are any personal issues, so in case we are able delay the dates of your course. The advance of the course fees are non-refundable, only in the case of emergency students can join us on other schedules.

Can I use my credit card to pay the remaining course fee in Bali?

We are accepting credit card payments for booking amounts. Remaining fees can be paid either in cash or by TCs.

How much do I need to pay for food and accommodation?

You don't need to pay extra money as our course fees include food and accommodation. You'll be provided a shared room with all the basic amenities like an attached bathroom, 24 hours water supply, hot water heater, bathing shower, Wardrobe and so on. If your booking is not included with food and accommodation then you need to pay that.

Is private accommodation available?

Yes Private Accommodation is Available in Bali yoga retreat, but you have to pay additional charges for it.

We are registered and certified yoga school with yoga alliance USA, Yoga alliance international and seva samadhi trust. Certified yoga teachers are enabled to teach and demonstrate yoga in any country around the world as a RYT certified teacher with Yoga alliance USA & Yoga alliance international.

In which yoga styles students graduate from our school ?

Our 200 hour is multi-style yoga teacher training course that follows yoga alliance USA standards and graduates from our yoga school will be enabled to teach classical hatha yoga, ashtanga and vinyasa yoga, yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, yoga therapy & anatomy as a certified yoga teacher. Also we teach many varieties of yoga. Please visit our website. Other short courses can be also registered with yoga alliance in the continuing education program.
