Yogi Shakti
500-Hour YTT · Kshatriyayoga Lineage · 10+ years
He began at eleven with thathuva dhyanam, then trained in Dravidian martial arts and Kshatriyayoga, bringing strength, control and discipline to class.
How He Came To The Mat
Shakti Ji started down this path at eleven years old, learning thathuva dhyanam alongside yoga. Over time he trained in different styles of Yogasana, traditional Dravidian martial arts, and eventually Kshatriyayoga, a strict, lesser-known system passed down through specific lineages in South India.
How He Teaches
He teaches with noticeable patience and rarely rushes through material. His martial arts background brings a different energy into his classes than typical relaxed yoga sessions, with more focus on strength, control, and discipline. He puts weight on the reasoning behind each technique rather than just the steps. He’s completed 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training and is currently working on a Bachelor’s in Naturopathy and Yogic Science.
